Soluble Fas Antigen Predicts Poor Response To Interferon In Hepatitis C

"Fas system-mediated cytotoxicity is thought to be involved in the development of liver injury in hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection," commented Kazuyoshi Ohkawa and associates, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, in the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

After evaluating the Fas system in patients with chronic hepatitis C, Ohkawa and colleagues have identified a strong relationship between the expression of Fas antigen and the way a person with chronic hepatitis C responds to IFN...
