Virologic response associates with better quality of life in hepatitis C

by Sonia Nichols, senior medical writer - Sustained virologic response is crucial for improving the quality of life and getting patients with chronic hepatitis C to adhere to their treatment regimens better, scientists in the U.S. report.

One way to do this may be to prescribe for them peginterferon, which according to some studies has been more effective than standard interferon (IFN)-alfa for improving viral response in hepatitis C virus (HCV)-positive patients.
