Data reported from first human study of interferon administration via AERx

Aradigm Corporation (ARDM) presented data on recombinant human interferon-alfa-2b administered by the company's AERx System, a pulmonary drug delivery platform.

The podium presentation entitled, "Evaluation of the AERx System for the Pulmonary Delivery of Recombinant Human Interferon alfa-2b to Healthy Subjects," was presented at the 29th annual meeting of the Controlled Release Society in Seoul, Korea. Data showed that the AERx Pulmonary Drug Delivery System appears to be safe, convenient, and well tolerated for the noninvasive systemic delivery of interferon alfa-2b using the inhalation route in healthy volunteers.
