Interim results of phase I Albuferon-alpha clinical trial promising

Human Genome Sciences, Inc., (HGSI) announced that interim results from an ongoing phase I clinical trial of Albuferon-alpha demonstrate that Albuferon-alpha is well tolerated, has a prolonged half-life, and is biologically active in adults with chronic hepatitis C.

Safety, pharmacology, immunogenicity, and biological activity data were presented at the 53rd annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) in Boston.

Albuferon-alpha is Human Genome Sciences' long-acting recombinant interferon alpha.
