Females with hepatocellular carcinoma live longer than their male counterparts

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a primary form of liver cancer, is one of the most commonly types of cancer diagnosed in the world. Viral hepatitis and excess alcohol consumption are just two of its major causes.

A new study of HCC and gender differences has shown that women fare better than men do in terms of survival and that the reason for that disparity may be cancer identification and follow-up.
