Surgical strategy devised for HVOB after living-donor transplants

An effective surgical strategy has been formulated for treatment of HVOB in living-donor liver graft recipients.

"The incidence of hepatic venous complications in partial liver transplantation is more frequent than that in whole liver transplantation," scientists in Japan explained. "There are no reports of a surgical strategy for hepatic venous outflow block (HVOB) after living-donor liver transplantation."
