Optical spectroscopy can show RFA margins in real time

Optical spectroscopy enables real-time assessment of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) margins.

RFA "is an evolving technology used to treat unresectable liver tumors," scientists in Tennessee explained. "Currently, there is no accurate method to determine RFA margins in real-time during the procedure."
