Viral disease-focused company reports resignation of VP of medical affairs

SciClone Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SCLN) announced that Eduardo B. Martins, MD, D.Phil, vice president of medical affairs, has resigned in order to accept a position with another biopharmaceutical company.

Alfred R. Rudolph, MD, chief operating o0fficer of SciClone, said, "Eduardo played an integral role in advancing the development of our lead product Zadaxin, most notably with respect to our U.S. phase 3 hepatitis C clinical trials."

SciClone has engaged an executive recruiter to identify candidates with experience developing products for the treatment of viral and infectious diseases or cancer.
