Legislation introduced to create inventory of cord blood stem cell units

ThermoGenesis Corp. (KOOL) announced that S-681 titled "Cord Blood Stem Cell Act of 2005" was introduced on March 17, 2005, in the U.S. Senate "to establish a National Cord Blood Stem Cell Bank network to prepare, store and distribute human umbilical cord blood stem cells for the treatment of patients and to support peer-reviewed research using such cells."

This legislation follows the initial $19.4 million appropriation with extended funding which may exceed $150 million over 5 years.
