Data support trial design evaluating Actimmune in IPF patients

InterMune, Inc., (ITMN) announced the presentation of results from an analysis of long-term Actimmune (interferon gamma-1b) therapy in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

The results were presented at ATS 2005, the annual International Conference of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), in San Diego, California. Other data presented at ATS 2005 included an independent investigator-initiated meta analysis that evaluated the effect of Actimmune treatment in prolonging survival in patients with IPF, results of the use of the Composite Pulmonary Index (CPI) in predicting mortality in IPF patients, and preclinical findings on the mechanism of action of...
