According to recent research from Turkey, "although the most common major toxicity of lamivudine has been pancreatitis, there is no report investigating possible impaired pancreatic functions, including glucose intolerance due to lamivudine therapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of lamivudine on the glucose metabolism in children. Twenty-three children were included: eight patients were treated with lamivudine, others with both lamivudine and interferon-alpha."
