Researchers from the United States and Japan detail new studies and findings in the area of hepatocellular carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma data are the focus of recent research from the United States and Japan.

Study 1: According to recently published research from the United States, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) can be successfully embolized with yttrium-90 glass microspheres prior to liver transplantation.

"We report a case of a patient with end-stage liver disease secondary to hepatitis C, complicated by a large HCC. Because of the size of the tumor exceeded the Milan criteria, he was not a candidate for liver transplantation," wrote D.Y. Kim and colleagues, Henry Ford Hospital.
