Hepatitis C virus infection prevalence is low in children

"Hepatitis C infection is a global health problem affecting about 3% of the world's population. However, very little data exists on the prevalence of hepatitis C virus infection in childhood. We performed a cross-sectional study in 2000 children and adolescents who were treated as in- or outpatients in our hospital," wrote P. Gerner and colleagues, University of Witten Herdecke.
