Study 1: According to recently published research from the People's Republic of China, hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface antigen (HbsAg) and antibody persistence induced by DNA-mediated immunization results in liver and kidney lesions in mice.
"DNA-mediated immunization has been recognized as a new approach for prevention and treatment of HBV infection. However, the side effects of this approach have not been well described," wrote X.Y. Zi and colleagues, Military Medical College 2.
