Hepatitis B surface antigen induces Tc1 response in dendritic cells

According to a recent study from the people's Republic of China, hepatitis B surface antigen (HbsAg) induces Tc1 response and enhanced cytotoxic T lymphocyte activity in dendritic cells (DCs).

"We evaluated the potential of DCs engineered to express antigen of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in priming Th/Tc and HBV-specific CTL responses in mice," wrote Y. Huang and colleagues, Zhejiang University.
