Study 1: According to recent research from Taiwan, complement C3a may be diagnostic of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) and HCV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
"Although the significant risk factors for HCC are well known from epidemiological studies, diagnosis of this disease at an early stage is difficult, and HCC remains one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide.
