Data from Brazil, Japan and the People's Republic of China advance knowledge in hepatitis B virus research

Hepatitis b virus data are the focus of recent research from Brazil, Japan and the People's Republic of China.

Study 1: According to recently published research from Brazil, the genotype distribution has been determined in chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections.

"HBV can be classified into at least eight genotypes, A-H. We evaluated the distribution HBV genotypes among patients with chronic infection," wrote N.R.C. Ribeiro and colleagues, Socrates Guanaes Gomes.
