Recent studies from University catholique of Louvain add new data to hepatitis genetics

A report, "Role of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 in liver fibrosis progression in chronic hepatitis C-infected patients," is newly published data in Laboratory Investigation. According to recent research from Brussels, Belgium, "In vitro and animal data suggest that hepatitis C virus (HCV) proteins might interfere with signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (Stat3) signaling. It remains unknown whether Stat3 influences the apoptotic-proliferation balance and how this may relate to liver fibrosis progression in HCV-infected patients."
