New hepatitis B virus study results from Wuhan University, College of Life Sciences described

Investigators publish new data in the report "NS5A protein of HCV enhances HBV replication and resistance to interferon response. HCV and HBV are the major causes of chronic liver diseases worldwide. Patients with both viruse's co-infection tend to develop severer liver diseases and are at high risk of liver-related death," scientists in Wuhan, People's Republic of China report.
