New data from University of California, Department of Medicine illuminate research in HIV/AIDS therapy

Fresh data on HIV/AIDS are presented in the report "Diagnosis and management of cirrhosis in coinfected patients. HIV coinfection is associated with faster progression of liver disease resulting from hepatitis B virus (HBV) or hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Thus, liver complications have become a major cause of illness and death in coinfected patients," scientists in the United States report.
