New HIV/AIDS study findings recently were published by researchers at University of California, Department of Medicine

A report, 'Regional adipose tissue and elevations in serum aminotransferases in HIV-infected individuals,' is newly published data in Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes. "The association of fat distribution with alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) elevations is not well-defined in HIV-infected individuals. Obesity is associated with hepatic steatosis, and ALT is a marker of steatosis in the general population," researchers in the United States report.
