Reports from Xi'an Jiao Tong University advance knowledge in hepatitis B virus

Research findings, 'MicroRNAome of splenic macrophages in hypersplenism due to portal hypertension in hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis,' are discussed in a new report. "MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a recently discovered class of post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression with critical functions in health and disease. Their role in the pathogenesis of hypersplenism, however, is completely unknown," scientists in People's Republic of China report.
