Findings from Kyoto Prefectural University, Medical Department in hepatitis C virus reported

"Steatosis is a histological finding associated with the progression of chronic hepatitis C. The aims of this study were to elucidate risk factors associated with steatosis and to evaluate the association between steatosis and hepatic expression of genes regulating lipid metabolism. We analyzed 297 Japanese patients infected with hepatitis C virus and a subgroup of 100 patients who lack metabolic factors for steatosis," researchers in Kyoto, Japan report.
