Researchers from University of Bologna, Department of Clinical Medicine report details of new studies and findings in the area of hepatitis C virus epidemiology

A new study, 'Long term follow-up and outcome of liver transplantation for alcoholic liver disease: a single center case-control study,' is now available. According to recent research from Bologna, Italy, "Alcoholic liver cirrhosis (ALC) is a leading indication for orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). To investigate the long-term outcome of OLT for ALC compared with patients transplanted for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection."
