Research conducted at University of Geneva has updated our knowledge about hepatitis C virus

Scientists discuss in 'Hepatitis C virus-induced steatosis: an overview' new findings in hepatitis C virus. "The pathogenesis of liver damage associated with the chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is largely immunomediated. However, some frequent histopathological features, such as fatty liver, suggest a direct cytopathic effect of HCV," scientists in Geneva, Switzerland report.
