Researchers from China Medical University Detail New Studies and Findings in the Area of Chronic Hepatitis

2011 FEB 21 -- "Patient age as a predictive variable plays an important role in some indices and models. It was hypothesized that patient age might be a categorical marker," scientists in Shenyang, People's Republic of China report.

"We collected the data of 623 CHB patients with liver biopsies. Two-hundred fifty-two patients could provide the duration of HBsAg-positive. The positive correlation between duration of HBsAg-positive and patient age was statistically significant (r = 0.487, P<0.001).
