2011 NOV 7 -- A report, "Effects of interferon-a/ß on HBV replication determined by viral load," is newly published data in Plos Pathogens. "Interferons a and ß (IFN-a/ß) are type I interferons produced by the host to control microbial infections. However, the use of IFN-a to treat hepatitis B virus (HBV) patients generated sustained response to only a minority of patients," scientists in Los Angeles, California report.
