New Chronic Hepatitis Data Have Been Reported by Researchers at Odense University Hospital

2011 DEC 19 -- A report, "Previously unrecognized advanced liver disease unveiled by transient elastography in patients with Haemophilia and chronic hepatitis C," is newly published data in Haemophilia. According to the authors of recent research published in the journal Haemophilia, "Before the introduction of viral inactivation procedures and viral screening of plasma-products, haemophiliacs were at high risk of infection with HCV. Those who acquired HCV infection in the 1980s, and are still alive today, may have developed significant liver fibrosis or cirrhosis."
