Data on hepatitis C virus are outlined in reports from Australia, the United States and Austria.

Study 1: According to recently published research from Australia, hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment can achieve sustained virological response (SVR).

"International controlled trials have demonstrated increasing SVR rates to interferon-based therapies in hepatitis-C-treated patients. Response rates of 6-20% in the era of interferon monotherapy are compared with 42-82% with pegylated interferon plus ribavirin.
