New surgery study findings have been reported by scientists at Kansai Medical University, Department of Thoracic

Researchers detail in "Bronchial stump reinforcement with the intercostal muscle flap without adverse effects," new data in surgery. According to recent research published in the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, "Bronchopleural fistula is a serious complication of pulmonary resection. For anatomical reasons, lower lobectomy is thought to carry a higher risk for bronchopleural fistula."
