Autism research at Packard Children's seeks participants

Researchers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and Stanford University are studying the safety and effectiveness of a new atypical anti-psychotic medication to improve behavioral problems such as agitation and aggression in children with autism.

This medication has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adult individuals with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. In order to participate in this research study, children must:

1) Be between the ages of 6 and 17 years

2) Have a diagnosis of autistic disorder

3) Meet behavioral questionnaire guidelines
