Studies from the United States, Japan and the People's Republic of China have provided new information about hypertension.

Study 1: Researchers detail in "Aldosterone antagonism fails to attenuate age-associated left ventricular fibrosis," new data in hypertension. According to a study from the United States, "Collagen accumulates disproportionately in cardiac remodeling induced by hypertension and associated with advancing age. Spironolactone (Spiro), an aldosterone antagonist, attenuates the accumulation of collagen induced by hypertension."
