Joint Center Engages Tennessee Leaders on Presidential Health Care Plans and Health Equity

Addressing racial disparities in health care coverage and access should be a key element of the next President's health care reform program, according to local political, community, academic and business leaders who met to discuss the issue on the eve of the second Presidential debate in Nashville.

The briefing was convened by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies (Joint Center), a Washington, D.C.-based think tank that focuses on the concerns of African Americans and communities of color, in the wake of its recent report comparing the health care proposals of the two Presidential candidates and the implications of such plans for minorities.
