Three convicted in Texas Medicare fraud case

The owners of two Irving, Texas, home-healthcare businesses who used payments from Medicare for personal use were convicted March 22, 2004, on multiple charges tied to conspiracy to defraud that agency.

Robbie Lesa Hames; her husband, Charles William Hames; and James Michael Davis were convicted of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, mail fraud, and making false statements.

Robbie Hames was also convicted on several other charges, including obstructing a federal auditor and money laundering. Davis also was convicted of money laundering and bank fraud.
