Worker convicted of Medicaid fraud

A former Southeastern Health Care & Rehabilitative Services worker has been convicted of fraud for wrongfully obtaining thousands of dollars of Medicaid reimbursements.

William J. Crayford, 45, of Whitingham, pleaded no contest to one felony count of Medicaid fraud in Vermont District Court in Brattleboro.

As part of a plea agreement with Assistant Attorney General Seth Steinzor, two felony charges of embezzlement against Crayford were dismissed by the state.
