Study 1: New research, "Transcriptional regulation of the homeobox gene NKX3.1 by all-trans retinoic acid in prostate cancer cells," is the subject of a report. According to a study from Perth, Australia, "NKX3.1 is a homeobox gene, expression of which is largely restricted to the adult prostatic epithelium. Loss of NKX3.1 expression has been linked to prostate carcinogenesis and disease progression and occurs in the absence of mutations in the coding region of the NKX3.1 gene."
