Community Health Systems, Inc. Announces Commencement of Tender Offer and Consent Solicitation for 6 1/2% Senior Subordinated Notes Due 2012

Community Health Systems, Inc. (the "Company") (NYSE: CYH), announced that it has commenced a cash tender offer for any and all of its outstanding $300,000,000 aggregate principal amount of 6 1/2% Senior Subordinated Notes due 2012 (the "Notes") on the terms and subject to the conditions set forth in the Company's Offer to Purchase and Consent Solicitation Statement dated May 31, 2007.
