The Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CFI) and Twenty Seven Others File $4.6 Billion RICO Suit Against Cerberus Capital Management, LP; Gordon Brothers Group; Third Avenue Value Fund SEMICOLONSI

Late yesterday afternoon, CFI, a 501(c)(3) organization and 27 other plaintiffs of interest filed a law suit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Eastern Division) seeking $4.6 billion in RICO damages from several entities and individuals for fraud in a business transaction.

CFI's mission is to support alternative and conventional therapies used concurrently to cure cancer. CFI was to have been the beneficiary in 1998 of an $80 million donation, which according to the law suit was disrupted by fraudulent concealment (an improper agreement between two lenders, one being a Cerberus affiliate and the other a subsidiary of Gordon...
