City of Hartford to Provide Better Health Care Benefits for Diabetic Employees and Dependents

The City of Hartford is taking new steps to ensure diabetic employees and their covered dependents are staying healthy. Government workers and their family members with diabetes will soon be invited to enroll in a new diabetes management program which offers cash rewards for successfully keeping up with their medical checkups and lab tests.

The City of Hartford has partnered with Abacus Employer Health Solutions (Abacus), creator of the Good Health Gateway® Diabetes program, to better manage the high incidence of diabetes in the city’s health plan (7%).
