Research from J. Yoshida and colleagues has provided new data on non-small cell lung cancer

"No analyses have been reported on the impact of visceral Pleura invasion (VPI) on staging, in relation with the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer proposals for the 7th edition of the tumor, node, metastasis (TNM) classification of the International Union Against Cancer staging system. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of VPI on survival and propose a method of incorporating VPI status into the TNM classification," investigators in Chiba, Japan report.
