Platinum agents are the usual first-line treatment for advanced NSCLC

First-line treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer with platinum-based agents is the standard of care, with docetaxel being the standard agent for second-line treatment, researchers report.

According to recent research published in the journal Hematology - Oncology Clinics of North America, "Lung cancer is an aggressive disease with poor prognosis after it has advanced. Over the past several years, there has been slow but steady progress in treatment options.
