ACT program launched in Delaware County, PA, for serious mental illness

Magellan Health Services and the Delaware County (Pennsylvania) Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) launched the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) service initiative to improve care for area Medicaid members with serious mental illness.

Endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), ACT programs serve individuals in their own homes and communities, rather than in traditional office settings, and have been shown to reduce the need for repeated hospital stays.
