Group urges U.S. Senate not to cut Medicaid access

The Coalition for Meaningful Medicaid Reform (CMMR) recently told the Senate that the current direction of Medicaid budget cuts - as part of the reconciliation process - could create access problems for Medicaid recipients.

The cuts may no longer allow the beneficiaries to receive their prescription medications.

"It is disappointing that the Senate is pushing through potentially harmful Medicaid cuts - that will ultimately hurt the very people they are trying to help - in order to reconcile the budget," said Craig Fuller, president and CEO of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) - a cofounding coalition member.
