Investigators publish new data in the report "Are American children and adolescents of low socioeconomic status at increased risk of obesity' Changes in the association between overweight and family income between 1971 and 2002." According to recent research from the United States, "A good understanding of the association between obesity and socioeconomic status (SES) has many important public health and policies implications, particularly for the prevention and management of obesity. The objective was to examine secular trends in the relations between overweight (body mass index >or=95th percentile) and SES."
