Polyvalent Melanoma Cell Vaccine Induces Humoral and Cell-Mediated Responses

Correlation of immune responses during vaccination with a polyvalent melanoma cell vaccine (PMCV) determined increases in overall survival in melanoma patients.

Researchers from the John Wayne Cancer Institute, California, conducted a phase II trial of PMCV in stage IV melanoma patients. Eddy C. Hsueh represented colleagues and reported the trial findings at the 34th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held May 16-19, 1998, in Los Angeles, California (abstract "Correlation of Specific Immune Responses with Survival in AJCC Stage IV Melanoma Patients Receiving Polyvalent Melanoma Cell Vaccine").
