New fusion proteins research from Polytechnic University outlined

According to recent research published in the journal Drugs of the Future, "'The proinflammatory cytokine interleukin-1 (IL-1) has been implicated as playing a pathogenic role in several systemic inflammatory diseases, and thus neutralization of IL-1 activity has emerged as an important therapeutic strategy to alleviate the symptoms of inflammatory and/or immune-mediated diseases. Several IL-1-blocking mechanisms are available and include the recombinant IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) anakinra (Kineret(AE)), anti-IL-1 beta monoclonal antibodies, antibodies to type I IL-1 receptor (IL-1RI) and IL-1R accessory protein (IL-1RAcP), soluble forms of IL-1 RAcP, inhibitors of caspase-1...
