"Des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin (DCP) is measured by an enzyme immunoassay system with the monoclonal antibody MU-3. A novel DCP antibody named 19137 recognizes a different epitope against the Gla domain of DCP measured by the MU-3 antibody," researchers in Mibu, Japan report.

"Therefore, it is possible that DCP variants can be measured with these two antibodies. The aim of this study was to elucidate the usefulness of the DCP ratio as a new prognostic parameter for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
