New osteonecrosis study findings have been published by scientists at Kyushu University, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

Investigators publish new data in the report 'Long-term outcome of transtrochanteric anterior rotational osteotomy for osteonecrosis of the femoral head in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.' According to recent research from Fukuoka, Japan, "This study sought to examine the long-term outcomes of transtrochanteric anterior rotational osteotomy (ARO) as treatment for osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Twenty-one patients (33 hips), aged 20-40 years, underwent ARO between 1980 and 1988."
