New data illuminates research in tuberculosis vaccines

According to recent research published in the journal Nature Medicine, "Protective immunity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis depends on the generation of a Th1-type cellular immune response, characterized by the secretion of interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) from antigen-specific T cells.
