Cambria-commissioned survey finds people misinformed about kitchen cleanliness

While many Americans believe the bathroom to be the germiest place in the house, in reality, the kitchen is the real culprit.

A national survey commissioned by Cambria, the only producer of natural quartz surfaces in the United States, found that half of all American adults believe the bathroom has the most germs.

"People are always shocked at the amount of bacteria in the kitchen," said Dr. Charles P. Gerba, a professor at the University of Arizona who specializes in germs.
